Robert Newman proudly calls Loudon Home since the age of 6. He is married and has one son.

Robert Newman began his career in law enforcement in 1994 as a volunteer reserveOfficer with the City of Loudon Police Department. In 1995, he began to serve in a part-time capacity until his promotion to full-time later that year in October. Robert Newman was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in March of 2004 and assigned to supervise the Charlie Squad (Night shift).

During his service to the City of Loudon, Robert Newman has received training in multiple fields of law enforcement. In 1996 he graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Donaldson TN. He has received training in drug interdiction at the Regional Counter Drug Training Academy in Meridian Ms. He has received training through the Governors Highway Safety Office in DUI detection.

Robert Newman has also received tactical training including level 1 swat, level 2 swat, Weapons of Mass Destruction and swat command. He has utilized this training by serving as Deputy Commander of the multi-jurisdictional swat team.
